TURN-OFF
Case 01 - Virtual Entertainers
TURN-OFF is a short 2D animated film featuring a virtual-idol-obsessed kid, going through hallucinations from his erupted panic, and leading him to eventually forfeit his beloved obsession whilst threatened by the embodiment of media. Case 01 is meant to take a look at the obsession of fictional characters and virtual idols.

This film aims to give an interesting twist to obsession representations and deliver an entertaining satire piece of film altogether. The purpose of this, is for us to enjoy but also empathize and be guilt-struck, and put an effort to stop, digress, or reduce our intakes of these media variables. In a way where it is not too grim, serious, or despair-inducing. And also, introducing the rise of this new genre in media which already shows a noticeable fanbase and its risks.

Animation focuses on the use of black and white to clarify the obsession's innocence and darkness. Cartoonish stylistic approach done to amplify the entertaining values rather than serious and on-the-nose messages. Narration is present to guide the audience through the story and explanations are for adequate pacing and follow-through.

All in all, a passion project, and a dumb yet insightful animated pilot that bargains a series.
